Let's talk Adaptogens.

It's so wonderful to see herbs being more and more talked about and being used in so many homes. Mother nature gave us so many incredible plant friends. After all, nearly all pharmaceuticals originate from our mother nature given plants!


Here are a few of my favorite adaptogens. They do just what they sound like they do, help us ADAPT under stress and pressure and immune-compromising situations. .



Pine Pollen- an Adaptogen. One of my favorites. Known for it's longevity in ancient cultures and is a natural aphrodisiac. This herb has twenty amino acids, including the essential eight. It is best taken in powder form in a smoothie or hot tea. This herb can greatly balance hormones and thus be a wonderful aid in fertility.


Ashwagandha- Adaptogen. The word actually means “smell of horses”. It is said to give you the stamina and vitality of a stallion. Ashwagandha comes from the roots and leaves of the winter cherry tree. It is often prescribed to help people overcome illness or who are enduring extreme stress or trauma in their life. It is an anti-inflammatory and can prevent anxiety and depression.

Chaga- Adaptogen. A mushroom found on the trunks of birch trees. Its known as “King mushroom healer” It is high in zinc and B vitamins. It aids in immune function and provides energy.


Reishi- Adaptogen. This mushroom is tied to success wellbeing and longevity. Also referred to as “queen healer mushroom” in Chinese medicine. It is an antiinflammatory, antioxidant, stress reducer and cancer fighter. It is known to lower blood pressure, (kidneys) and cholesterol.


Maca- Adaptogen. A cousin of broccoli and cabbage. It grows in the high moutains of Peru. It can help elevate endorphins and make people feel “ more alive”. It increases stamina, provides energy, increases focus. It is also full of minerals and amino acids. Great for balancing hormones. This is also great for both men and women to increase fertility.


What is an adaptogen?


Adaptogen- super herbs known to help the body deal with stress and to exert a normalizing effect upon bodily processes. Known to help restore the normal physiological function.
